If you're injured on the job in Illinois, workers' compensation covers your medical bills and a portion of your lost wages. You don't need to prove your employer was at fault.

You Have the Right to Choose Your Own Doctor
Many employers will try to send you to their preferred physician. In Illinois, you have the right to choose your own doctor — and to change doctors up to two times.
Choosing an independent doctor matters. Company doctors may minimize your injuries or rush you back to work before you're ready. Our network includes independent, board-certified physicians who put your health first.
What Your Employer Cannot Do
- Fire or threaten to fire you for filing a workers' comp claim.
- Refuse to file your claim or discourage you from filing.
- Force you to use a specific doctor (you choose).
- Retaliate against you in any way for exercising your rights.
